More Info

The Briar Street Theatre is Chicago's premier venue for theatrical performances. The venue is currently home to the visually stimulating performers - Blue Man Group. The theatre is considered a Chicago landmark and after a long period as a sound stage, the famed venue was reopened in 1985 for theatrical performances. The historical building was constructed in 1901 as a carriage house and horse stables for Marshall Fields.

The venue maintained its historical purpose well into the century until in 1970 when it was converted into a sound stage for the film production company, Topel and Associated. By 1985, the production company's owner was able to realize his dream of opening a theatre to compliment Chicago's rich performance tradition and transformed the venue into what it is today.

Since 1985, The Briar Street Theatre has been Chicago's premier venue for theatrical performances and other events. Join the Blue Man Group and the Briar Street Theatre for performances scheduled throughout 2011.
