Lomi Strong 2: Holistic Self-Care, Functional Movement, and LomiStick Training
Hawaiian healing wisdom meets modern day movement science. In Lomi Strong 2: Holistic Self-Care, Functional Movement and Lomi-Stick Training, participants will be introduced to an integrative approach to managing ‘whole’ health, through functional movement practice and Lomi-stick self-care massage. Participants will be introduced to traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi as it pertains to holistic self-care practice. The course will highlight specific strategies for establishing and maintaining well-being using custom designed Lomi-stick self-care massage tools. Strategies include tactile cueing, inner-sensing, hydration, neuromuscular re-education and active fascial release. Each technique of Lomistick self-care massage is integrated into functional movement patterns taught in Lomi Strong 1. Participants will walk away from this course with a greater practical knowledge of cultural holistic self-care practices and ways to integrate into contemporary life.
